The following open letter contains the truth behind the television show LOST. The letter has been sent to the production team of LOST at Touchstone Pictures, and also published in the blog olofmolander.blogspot.com.
Dear Co-workers of the LOST team. Let me start by apologize for writing you this open letter. I know it will cause you a lot of trouble, but yet I feel it’s necessary to do what I now am about to do. It is time to reveal the truth about LOST to the world.
The legend of the mystical island roots all the way back in old Greek society. The philosopher Plato described an island in his epic work The State. Atlantis was the cradle of civilization, a high standing society of religion, culture and science. During an environmental catastrophe the island of Atlantis sunk into the sea, and few of the inhabitants managed to flee.
Since then many has shared their views and theories about Atlantis. Let me just mention a selected few from some different perspectives.
Rudolf Steiner, "genius" and creator of the philosophical and theosophical doctrine Anthroposophy (the wisdom of mankind), emphasized with Platons view of Atlantis as the cradle of civilization. In addition, Steiner believed that the Aryan race or the ancient semites, evolved from the population of Atlantis - which in their turn communicated with each other not via spoken language but in telepathic pictures. During the eighteen-century the scientific debate about Atlantis reach it’s climax. Swedish scientist Olof Rudbeck "proved" via archeological and etymological reasoning, that the surviving inhabitants of Atlantis fled to Sweden were they rooted and built up a new civilization.
The movie 10 000 bc, describes the building of the pyramids (the mountain of the Gods) alongside the shores of Nile, Egypt. Masters of the construction work was a mystical people that fled from an island long time ago in an ancient ship. The Disney movie Atlantis tells the story about Milo, the brave and stubborn archeology, which discovers the sunken island Atlantis intact deep beneath the earth’s surface. He finds an intact society with the remaining population of the old civilization. The island of Atlantis is filled with mystical geological, mythological and naturalistic forces and Milo encounters lots of fantastic adventures.
Dear co-workers of the LOST production team. I thank you for a magnificent mystical plot/script work during the process of making LOST. Many times countless viewers have scratch their heads in wonder of how everything is connected. But, if you let Sayid sail alongside the shores of the LOST island wondering about a destroyed ancient colossal statue with only four toes, sooner or later a fellow in Sundbyberg will put the pieces together! The geological forces, the secrecy/problems finding the island on the radar, the experiment of the Dharma Initiative and the struggle for the island between Charles Widmore and Benjamin Linus adds up to one single conclusion explaining your mystical plot. LOST is meant to be yet another (but brilliant) interpretation of the old dream of finding the cradle of civilization. The LOST island is in fact the remains of the lost civilization Atlantis!
Dear co- workers of LOST production team. Do not despair that your secret has been reveled. Instead take comfort and pride in the fact that it took me so long to figure it out.
